Maitland Volcano is a Pliocene shield volcano located in the western Cassiar Mountains of northwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is associated with the Northern Cordilleran Volcanic Province and consists of basaltic volcanic plugs and flat-lying basalt flows. Maitland Volcano was built onto a mature, Tertiary erosion surface between 5 and 4 million years ago. The shield, which formerly covered an area of >900 km2, has been reduced by erosion to scattered, cliff-bounded remnants which cap the higher mountains.
