Maesycwmmer (Welsh: Maes-y-cwmwr) is a small village in the centre of Caerphilly county borough in South Wales, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire.

Maesycwmmer is located five miles north of Caerphilly.

Overshadowed by the vast Hengoed Viaduct[1] which carried the Taff Vale Extension over the Rhymney valley, it features the unusual piece of modern art, a sculpture of a circle of coalmining dram trucks to commemorate the industrial heritage of this locality [2]. Also in Maesycwmmer there are three pubs; The Maesycwmmer Inn, The Butchers and The Angel or as it used to be called by the people of Maesycwmmer The Gayngel because it used to carry out civil partnerships.
Maesycwmmer was a creation yet also a victim of the Industrial Revolution in the South Wales Coalfield. The houses built along the main road were purpose built for the workers that built the Hengoed Viaduct (known locally as Maesy Viaduct because we have more arches apparently). There is also a huge scar in the field behind the houses of St Annes Gardens where a quarry used to be.
