In May 2001, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) held an event in Vancouver, which Madison attended, and it was there that she decided that she wanted to become a professional wrestler.[1] Two weeks later,[1] she was training in NWA: Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling's (ECCW) school House of Pain in Langley, British Columbia. She was trained by Michelle Starr and Chance Beckett.

After a little over a year in the business, Madison won her first title. On June 12, 2002, Madison won the vacant NWA Canadian Women's Championship, but lost it eleven days later to Bam Bam Bambi.[2]

On August 23, 2002, Madison defeated Bam Bam Bambi to win the vacant NWA World Women's Championship.[2] Char Starr defeated Madison in Corpus Christi, Texas at the NWA 54th Anniversary Show on October 26, 2002 to become the next NWA World Women's Champion.[2] Madison then defeated Starr on December 6, 2002 to win the NWA World Women's Championship for a second time.[2]
