Macoumba Kandji

Macoumba Kandji (August 2, 1985) was born in Dakar, Senegal. He is a soccer player, who currently plays in midfield or striker for the Atlanta Silverbacks of the A-League.
Macoumba attended East Meck High School and was voted MVP in 2003 as the men’s All-State Team forward. He attended Georgia Military College and selected in the All-Region team in 2004 and 2005, scoring 17 goals and providing 6 assists during the 2005 season. During 2006 Macoumba impressed for the Silverback Under 23’s side, scoring 1 goal and 1 assist in 8 games. He joined the Atlanta Silverbacks in 2007.
Macoumba’s preferred style of play is based on speed and his striking abilities. This is shown in his favourite players in Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho. Macoumba is a good role model as he actively promotes young people to stay in school and say no to drugs and alcohol.
