Maccabi

The word Maccabi (Hebrew: מכבי) used to refer to one of the Maccabees, whose story has become synonymous with courage, success and victory. Nowadays, several Israeli and Jewish organizations carry this name:
- The Maccabi sports association
- Maccabi Tel Aviv, Israeli/European basketball dynasty, part of the sports association.
- Maccabi Sherutei Briut, an Israeli HMO
- Maccabee brand of beer, produced by Tempo Beer Industries Ltd.
- Maccabim-Re'ut, a former local council in central Israel
- Maccabi Rishon LeZion, an Israeli basketball and handball team of the Rishon LeZion city.
