[edit] Article on luxury goods
Justguy 08:22, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
While this article has been rejected for addition as an external link, it was added in good faith and not (as suggested) as a plug for anything. It is a summary of how luxury goods buyers are changing their habits. It both adds depth to the wiki topic and new information. If you wish the relevant text added to the body of the item then that is not a problem. http://www.just-style.com/article.aspx?id=94880
[edit] Superior good
Luxury good and superior good seem to have similar definitions. --Henrygb 17:38, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yes they do, and luxury goods are superior goods. Regards, Signaturebrendel 20:25, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Normal Good
Perhaps I'm wrong, here, but I believe normal good status depends on price elasticity, not income elasticity, so pretty much every luxury good is normal. (Yes, yes, the good could be Giffen.) The intro to the article doesn't quite make sense in relation to inferior goods, luxury goods, and normal good.Coleca 01:49, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- Nevermind all of this. I don't know what I was smoking when I wrote that.Coleca 23:26, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] External link
Justguy 10:36, 19 October 2006 (UTC) Is there a concensus that the article I suggested would/wound not be appropriate? I do not wish to resubmit and be accused of some form of spam.
[edit] Luxury goods being copied
Next to luxury cars, luxury goods encompass apparels, accessories, houses, hi-tech equipments, horses, food & beverages, and last but not least watches. All those goods suffer from the same plague: they are being copied, mostly watches & bags.
I am also missing the enumeration of the other luxury brands, next to those of watches.
Do you have any proposal, other than simply deleting mine? I am ready to try and work out some interesting solution for this page.
No harm meant. Best regards claude 21:46, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I'm not quite sure what you are proposing, but yes luxo goods are being copied. Nevertheless, what changes exactely are you proposing? Regards, SignaturebrendelNow under review! 22:10, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Maryse Casol Painting
What is the Maryse Casol painting doing in an article about Luxury Goods ? Although art now sometimes does have a lot in common with fashion and luxury goods, nobody has ever heard of Maryse Casol. Also this blog post [1] (which is written by me) shows the truth behind the Casol marketing history. I am not deleting this from the article myself as I don't want to be the sole judge on this one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BD12345 (talk • contribs) 23:48, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Advertising section
I renamed the section b/c I noticed that the user who created it was a actually a luxury goods consulting firm plus they were deleted from wikipedia. However, it might be a good section to expand upon...like trends of advertising with luxury goods, hesitence to go online, etc.Krushdiva (talk) 23:11, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
