Lufkin High School is a public secondary school located in Angelina County, Texas (USA). It serves the Lufkin area as part of the Lufkin Independent School District. It was started in 1905 and recently celebrated 100 years of excellence.
The current Lufkin High School was formed in 1970 by consolidation of Lufkin High School and Lufkin Dunbar High School, the formerly African-American School in Lufkin.

Lufkin High School participates in the 5A Classification of the University Interscholastic League in football, basketball, baseball, track and field, swimming, Tennis, and other sports and competition. The football team plays at Abe Martin stadium, named for legendary TCU, and former Lufkin High, coach Abe Martin. Current football coach John Outlaw turned Lufkin into a Texas football powerhouse, winning a state championship in 2001 Lufkin High School also has one of the oldest football rivalries in the state. The Nacogdoches Dragons and the Lufkin Panthers have played each other for almost 100 yrs and up until 2000, it was a very intense rivaly.[1]

The mascot of the Lufkin High School sports teams is the black-furred puma, known as a panther. The panther is a rare melanistic variant (opposite of albino) of the puma, which normally has a reddish fur. The school fight song is "On, You Panthers" sung to the tune of "On, Wisconsin," the fight song of the University of Wisconsin.

The baseball team plays at Garrison Field at Morris Frank Park in west Lufkin.
Both the boys/girls Soccer teams play at Jase Majors Soccer Complex on the High School Campus, named for the late girls' soccer coach and teacher.
