Lucciana Cathedral

Lucciana Cathedral (Cathédrale Sainte-Marie-de-l'Assomption de Lucciana), also called La Canonica, is a former Roman Catholic cathedral, and a national monument of Corsica (France), located in the town of Lucciana.
This church was formerly the cathedral of the diocese of Mariana, later diocese of Mariana and Accia (the present town of Lucciana is very near the site of the Roman town of Mariana), which lasted until the Concordat of 1801, when along with all Corsican bishoprics it was transferred to the diocese of Ajaccio.
The present Romanesque church dates from the 11th century and is one of the most significant medieval buildings in Corsica.
