SE26 is a postcode district in the SE postcode area of London, England.[1]

The postcode district is part of the LONDON post town.[1] Sectors 4, 5 and 6 are in use.[1] There are no dependent localities used in the postcode district.[1] The numbered district was created in 1917 and was originally designated as the Sydenham postal district.[2] Before then it had been included in the SE postal district and initially formed part of the abandoned S postal district.[3] There has been no significant recoding of the district from 1990 to 2007.[4] There is a Post Office branch in the district on Sydenham Road.[5]

The postcode district has a population of 28,095 in 12,842 residential properties and the greatest number (62.2%) of the properties are flats.[6] The population density is 71.7 people per square kilometre. The average age of residents is 34.[6]

The postcode district is mainly within the London Borough of Lewisham with small parts in the south east around New Beckenham in the London Borough of Bromley and in the west near Dulwich within the London Borough of Southwark. It covers Sydenham, including Upper Sydenham and Lower Sydenham. The south western boundary is Crystal Palace Park.
