On Wikipedia:WikiProject Aircraft I have started a proposal for how lists of aircraft could be rationalised on wikipedia. If you're interested, let's discuss it there -- Cabalamat 03:25, 1 Sep 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Page name

A user has reverted an edit that was going to include a UAV in the list. The reason stated was that 'A UAV isn't a specific aircraft and the Army isn't part of the RAAF'. There are quite a few aircraft in the list that are not part of the RAAF. Moreover, all future helicopter purchases are most likely going to be either Army or RAN [1]. Therefore, we either remove all RAN and Army aircraft or we move the page to 'List of aircraft of the ADF'. If you're up to it we can vote to move the page as below and I will do any changes (if any) next week (Mon 19th March). - Ctbolt 03:14, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
support - it will make the list more comprehensive and keep the current intent.Ctbolt 03:14, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Err, anything pre-1970 doesn't really qualify as an ADF aircraft, though. Something more generic would be better, if you're going to make a single list; e.g. "List of aircraft used by the military of Australia". Kirill Lokshin 03:24, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I must agree with Kirill a more generic nam is reguired. Hossen27 06:09, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
There already is a List of aircraft of the RAN and List of Australian Army aircraft. However, I don't see any harm at all in combining all three lists into a single list as long as the service(s) which operated each aircraft are identified. --Nick Dowling 07:14, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
As pointed out there is already lists for the navy and army, I would support just removing the navy and army aircraft from this list. MilborneOne 12:33, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Give me another week on this one and I'll come up with some options. - Ctbolt 10:42, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A new article

I've made a new article called Current RAAF Aircraft. Jezstar (talk) 01:38, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spitfire

The Spitfire listed twice, with slightly different years. Clarityfiend (talk) 00:28, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
