Listrac-Médoc

Listrac-Médoc is a village and commune located a few kilometres inland from the Garonne estuary in the Gironde département of south-west France, that produces red wine.

Lying 15km north-west of the city of Bordeaux, the village is best known for giving its name to one of the six appellations of the great wine-growing regions Médoc. In a region where a mere 20 metres can be the difference between a great wine and an average one, its distance from the beneficial effect of the Garonne means that its wines are not as highly-rated as those of the other appellations. Nonetheless it is home to manycan vineyards whose blends of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc age over a period of several decades.
