List of Golden Gate Transit Routes

Golden Gate Transit (GGT) operates a number of bus routes that is composed of four types[1][2]:
- Basic Service
- Commute Service
- Local Service
- Supplemental Local Service
Note: Schedules on most routes vary quarterly, as Golden Gate Transit strives to improve schedule reliability and efficiency. [3]
Golden Gate Transit also operates special service to select San Francisco 49ers football home games from Larkspur, Santa Rosa, Sonoma, and San Rafael. And within San Francisco, local service is permitted only between the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza and the Presidio (at Richardson Avenue at Francisco Street).

[edit] Basic Service
GGT operates 5 basic, daily service (including holidays) throughout the day and evening that provides service between San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa, and Sonoma Counties. On holidays, all bus services follow the weekend schedule.

Notes:
General: All routes heading to San Francisco serve the Civic Center and Transbay Terminal (Mission and 1st Streets) before ending at 8th and Folsom Streets or after starting at Folsom and 7th Streets.
Route 10:
- Select weekday trips serve Tam Junction.
- Route serves via Geary Boulevard (in the Richmond District)
Routes 40/42:
- Route 40 operates from 6am to 9:45am and 3:30pm to 7:30pm weekdays only, and it does not serve Richmond BART Station.
- A maximum of four (4) bikes, aside from two (2) bikes allowed at the bike racks at the front of the bus, is allowed on Routes 40/42, provided that no passengers in wheelchairs are on board. Passengers with disabilities, though, are given priority over bikers.
Routes 70/80:
- Service is every 30 minutes between Novato and San Francisco (combined bus service) and every hour between Novato and Santa Rosa.
- Some Routes 70/80 buses serve Lincoln Avenue (San Rafael) and Sausalito, and Route 80 serves the Copeland Street Transfer Mall in Petaluma.
- First northbound Route 80 serves between Marin City and Petaluma only, while last northbound Route 70 serves up to San Rafael Transit Center.
- Routes serves via Lombard Street and Van Ness Avenue, and some Route 70 buses do not serve the Transbay Terminal.

GGT operates 22 commute period service routes on weekday mornings and evenings except holidays that provides service between San Francisco, Marin, and Sonoma Counties. All bus services run during peak hours only on weekdays, and there is no service on select holidays.

GGT operates local service within Marin County on weekdays, with limited weekend service, under contract with Marin Transit. Marin Transit determines the level of transit service and the fares for most services.[5] See here for the local routes.

GGT operates supplemental local service under contract with Marin Transit, and these routes are operated on school days only serving many schools in Marin County. See here for more information.
