This is a list of episodes of the Devil May Cry anime. The episodes are directed by Shin Itagaki and produced by Madhouse Studios.^[1] The English adaptation of the anime has been licensed by ADV Studios.^[1] They are based on the Devil May Cry video game series produced by Capcom. The background of the storyline is primarily based on the first and third installments of the series, Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 3 respectively.

The anime was originally announced at the Tokyo Game Show on September 22, 2006, with plans to release twelve episodes of the series.^[2] Unlike most anime, the episode titles were released in English instead of the customary Japanese.^[3] The first episode aired on June 14, 2007, with the twelfth shown on September 6, 2007.^[4] The episodes aired on WOWOW.^[1]

Two pieces of theme music are used for the episodes, one opening theme and one closing theme. The opening theme is "d.m.c." by rungran, and the closing theme is "I'll be your home" by Rin Oikawa. The original soundtrack for the episodes was released by Media Factory on August 18, 2007.^[3]^[5]

As of December 2007, three DVD compilations have been released by Media Factory, each containing two episodes of the anime, with the latest one released on November 22, 2007.^[3] Three more DVD compilations are slated for release.^[3] A special edition of the first compilation will also be packaged with Devil May Cry 4, the next game in the Devil May Cry series.^[3]

Dante, a half-demon, half-human mercenary specializing in devil hunting, is hired as the bodyguard of Patty, a young orphaned girl who is the heir to a large fortune. He protects her from the numerous demons set to kill her, but feels something amiss in this job.
2	"Highway Star"	June 21, 2007
Dante reluctantly accepts a mission from his old acquaintance, Lady, to stop a demonically possessed motorcycle named "Red Eye" that haunts the motorway. At the same time, a young, brash motorcyclist hopes to outrace the Red Eye, so as avenge his brother.
3	"Not Love"	June 28, 2007
The daughter of the mayor begins seeing a mysterious man behind her father's back. Under suspicion that the man is a devil in disguise, Dante is sent to investigate. Along the way, the man questions whether a human and a devil can ever be together, forcing Dante to recall the relationship between his human mother, Eva, and his father, the legendary dark knight, Sparda.
4	"Rolling Thunder"	July 5, 2007
A strange woman with lightning-based abilities is seen lurking around town. Lady is asked to investigate, believing it's a demon in disguise. However, the fact that this woman dual-wields hanguns does not surprise Dante at all.
5	"In Private"	July 12, 2007
Dante finds himself followed by a customer from a local diner, who is trying to find out the devil hunter's secrets in order to impress a local waitress. After witnessing Dante slay multiple devils, the man manages to gain the waitress' affection.
6	"Rock Queen"	July 19, 2007
Dante is hired to protect a group of treasure hunters from a female devil, that possessed the body of a former rock star.
7	"Wishes Come True"	July 26, 2007
A man receives a visit from a demonic mask which claims to fulfill any wish he desires. After inadvertently wishing for his friend's death, the man ends up in a prison deemed impossible to escape. Dante is hired by a guest from the past to get him out of the prison. Dante manages to expose the prison guards as devils and defeats the wish-making demon as well.
8	"Once Upon A Time"	August 2, 2007
A man named Aaron insists that Dante is his childhood friend, Tony, and that he and his mother used to live in his small town, before being banished by the townspeople, after a devil attacked, twenty years ago. Dante hesistantly plays along, but continues to deny the claim.
9	"Death Poker"	August 9, 2007
A woman hires Dante to save her husband from gambling. Not long after, Dante joins a game of poker and soon hears the story of King, a gambler who is said to be killing anyone who loses against him. The gamblers assembled realize that King is among them, and as they drop dead one by one, Dante exposes King with the aid of Lady and defeats it.
10	"The Last Promise"	August 26, 2007
Dante is attacked by Barusa, a former servant of Sparda who seeks the chance to battle the Legendary Dark Knight. In the meantime, Barusa's brother tries to find a way to prevent the fight between Dante and Barusa. Dante defeats Barusa and subsequently kills his enraged brother.
11	"Showtime!"	August 30, 2007
Dante encounters Patty's mother, the descendant of a human sorcerer, who once sealed away the power of an ancient devil lord, Abigail, but the mischievous demon Sid, who has been harassing the hunter for a while, finally unveils his plan that could unbalance the human world and destroy it.
12	"Stylish!"	September 6, 2007
With Dante impaled and crucified in the demon dimension, Lady and Trish fight the invasion of devils in the human world while Patty attempts to retrieve Dante. Dante returns, and despite Sid's power, defeats him. In the epilogue, Dante, Lady, and Trish leave on the same mission while Patty comes to Dante's office, determined to clean up his mess.
