"Let's Impeach the President" is a Grammy Award-nominated protest song written, produced and recorded by Neil Young. It is the seventh track on his 2006 studio album Living with War.
It starts off with a trumpet playing the first six notes of Taps, then having a chorus sing about various reasons to impeach the current president of the United States George W. Bush(although none of them are actual crimes that can be used against him in an impeachment trial). The song is sung to the tune of Steve Goodman's song "The City of New Orleans," perhaps a reference to 2005's Hurricane Katrina, another area of critical views. The song features sound clips from the president's speeches.
The song is becoming more and more popular as the Iraq War continues and more recently became popular during the ongoing "Attorneygate" scandal.
