[edit] Building
The present site in St. Andrew's Place, Leith Links has been the location of the school since 1806 although the origins of the school can be traced back to the 15th century. The current building was opened in 1898, and is the second to stand on this site. Originally this provided education from infants to 14 year olds and the building is a well recognised landmark. Inside there are tall staircases, long corridors and high ceilings where many of the original Victorian features are still in evidence.[1]
