I have discovered a method for running Lego Creator in Windows XP. It involves downloading a patch from GameCopyWorld.com and running the game in Windows 98/Me compatibility mode. I have entered the info accordingly on the page. I tried to avoid it being original research, etc., but as I am the only one I know of who's tried this, I am unsure what the rules are regarding posting info based on personal, but working, computer experiments. The bottom-line is that I believe this info is essential to this article considering how many people have Windows XP at this point and are missing out on playing this game. I have two Lego Creator CDs, the first one was the "origonal" version, it will not work on WindowsXP. The second version came with a lego game compliation, and it will work on WindowsXP (out of the box). SaderBiscut 17:28, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

I set my copy of Creator in only compatibility mode for Windows 98/Me using Windows XP, and it works. I haven't tried it in Vista yet. Gtxm78 01:41, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I wouldn't be suprised if the new version did nothing but remove the 'Won't run on NT' check, which putting it into compatibility mode basicly does as well. SaderBiscut 17:16, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

I tried to play the unmodified version just yesterday and found out why it doesn't work. XP doesn't allow other software to take full control of any hardware in your computer; instead, the software must ask XP and DirectX for control. Creator doesn't ask either program, hence the error. I have an old version of creator which wouldn't run on XP or Vista but I emailed LEGO and they sent me a patch which apparently fixed the compatibility and some sound problems.--Lyradog 21:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Mine was the old version, and it worked fine in XP. I'm not sure if it can run under Windows Vista Home Premium. - Gtxm78 (talk) 00:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Image:Lego Creator Cover.jpg is being used on this article.
