L. M. Singhvi लक्ष्मीमल सिंघवी (1931-2007) was an eminent jurist, constitutional expert and writer from India.
He was born 1931,Jodhpur,Rajasthan,India.
Member of the Third Lok Sabha from 1962-67. Advocate General of State of Rajasthan from 1972-77. High Commissioner for India in U.K.from 1991-97. Conferred Padma Bhushan in 1998. Elected to Rajya Sabha in 1999. Chairman of High Level Committee on Indian Diaspora. He has written many books like A Tell of three citys ,Bharat or Hamara Samay,Jain Temple) a few in Hindi as well.
He is a father of Abhishek Manu Singhvi who is a politician from Indian National Congress.
Singhvi was also a well acknowledged scholar of Jain history and culture. He was the Advocate General of Rajasthan from 1972 to 1977 and he had also spearheaded the Indian delegation to the UN conference on Human Rights in Viena in 1993.
