I'm trying to change the number of employees to 3,800, in accordance with Lawson's fiscal year 2007 10K filing, but I can't figure out how to change the reference. Can anyone guide me?--KMPLS 15:27, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't think so. The worst that should happen is that the page would be reset to a version before the material from the web site was added. But even if it was deleted, it could be restored to exactly the same state by an administrator, once the ORTS is responding. --S.K. 14:04, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

The assessment that Lawson is a "tier-two" provider is based on independent analyses which reported on their market share as of 2003. [edit] Not a spam article

Someone placed a {{db-spam}} article on this page. Lawson Software is a reasonably notable Minnesota company, and this article is no more spammy than any other company listed in Category:Companies based in Minnesota. The article has been around for a while, and survived a VfD in 2004, so it seems questionable to put a speedy delete tag on it now. --Elkman ^(Elkspeak) 16:12, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removing the AdverText

Up until around June 2007, this article was encyclopedic but verging on advertext - but the company is worthy of an article, so I don't think its spam but I can see why an editor placed the tag on it (incorrectly). Since that point it has trippled in size, mainly thanks to a series of editors who just edit on this one article, who added detailed text on products and why customers bought the various products - resultantly, it had become either a technical manual or a piece of advertext. I removed the sections detailing the products and the why customers bought, which seem copyright violations of Lawson's own marketing materials, and the management team bio's - just the top exec's, unless they are notable under WP:Bio. I think this article is back to something worthy of Wikipedia, and not something which is just a cheap advert. Rgds, - Trident13 (talk) 12:19, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

After taking into consideration your comments, I have rewritten the text on industries and customers, removing anything that could be considered "advertext" and backing it all up with external references (not from Lawson press releases). At this point I cannot see how the text includes any type of claim that would sway someone to purchase Lawson products. The goal is truly to explain the sometimes complex industries in which Lawson's products are often used (for example, many people may not know what an asset intensive industry is) and give examples of companies (Lawson customers) within those industries (from non-Lawson sources) to further illustrate what the business of that particular industry is. I'm really not sure how I could make it more factual. Do you have a suggestion? Or is the issue that I am simply not allowed to mention customers at all? Can I at least list Lawson's focus industries with a description of what they do?
