Larry Forgy

Larry Forgy is a Republican politician and unsuccessful candidate for office from Lexington, Kentucky.
Forgy ran for Governor of Kentucky in 1991, losing in the Republican primary to Larry Hopkins. Forgy again ran for Governor of Kentucky in 1995, losing 500,787 (51.1%) to 479,227 (48.9%) to Paul E. Patton. Forgy later ran an unsuccessful race for the Kentucky Supreme Court, losing to James E. Keller in a special election in 1999. He was reportedly considering running in the United States Senate election in Kentucky, 2008[1], but he did not file as a candidate for the office.
Forgy was Bryan Coffman's co-chair when Coffman ran unsuccessfully for Central Kentucky's 6th congressional district in 2004.[2] Forgy's previous experience includes working as an attorney and serving as President of the Health Kentucky non-profit.[3] Forgy was also Republican National Committeeman for Kentucky, the Kentucky Chair for Ronald Reagan's successful presidential election bids, Vice Chair of Kentucky Council Higher Education, Chairman of Finance Committee of University of Kentucky Board of Trustees, and the General counsel and Budget Director for the Commonwealth for Governor Louie B. Nunn[2]
