Lago Vista is a city in Travis County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,507 at the 2000 census, and 5,573 in the 2005 census estimate.

Lago Vista is located at [3]. This is on the north shore of Lake Travis, 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Austin.
(30.449589, -97.996151)According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.4 square miles (24.2 km²), of which, 8.7 square miles (22.6 km²) of it is land and 0.6 square miles (1.7 km²) of it (6.94%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 4,507 people, 1,944 households, and 1,364 families residing in the city. The population density was 517.3 people per square mile (199.8/km²). There were 2,155 housing units at an average density of 247.4/sq mi (95.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 94.01% White, 0.84% African American, 0.27% Native American, 0.67% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 2.44% from other races, and 1.69% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.88% of the population.
There were 1,944 households out of which 25.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.6% were married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.8% were non-families. 24.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.73.
In the city the population was spread out with 20.8% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 28.6% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 20.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 95.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $57,527, and the median income for a family was $62,114. Males had a median income of $48,550 versus $29,929 for females. The per capita income for the city was $28,438. About 2.1% of families and 3.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.5% of those under age 18 and 1.1% of those age 65 or over.
