La Chaîne Info, or LCI (French: "The News Channel") is a French cable news channel. The network provides 24-hour national and global news coverage.
[edit] History
LCI was created on June 24, 1994, by Christian Dutoit on behalf of the media group TF1.
The broadcast began at 8:30 PM with the live TV news programme featuring Françoise-Marie Morel as presenter. The first guest was the CEO of the channel Étienne Mougeotte.
In 2006, the channel's web site appeared twice in the James Bond film Casino Royale, a product placement that the channel says it didn't pay for.
