La Cambe German war cemetery is in La Cambe, Calvados, France. Buried here are German soldiers killed during the Normandy invasion. [1] The cemetery was finished in 1961, and inaugurated in September of that year. [1] Since then, more than 700 soldiers have been found on the battlefield and buried here.[1] The cemetery is administered by the German War Graves Commission, the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge.
