"L.I.F.E" is the the fourth single from Lil Mama's debut album, VYP: Voice of the Young People. The music video premiered on April 30, 2008 on Yahoo! Music and BET's Access Granted. The video then premiered on BET's 106 & Park countdown the next day. The song What It Is (Strike a Pose) was supposed to be the next single but got replaced by this song. Avril Lavigne was supposed to appear on this track, but didn't. Lil Mama has been praised for showing diversity in her music, namely in this single.
