Koichi Ishii

Koichi Ishii (石井 浩一 Ishii Kōichi?) (born July 9, 1964) is a video game developer working for Square Enix (formerly Square). He is the creator of the Mana series (known as Seiken Densetsu in Japan), of which he has directed or produced every game released (as of 2008); he has also contributed to several games in Square Enix's SaGa and Final Fantasy series, and created the well-known Chocobo and Moogle characters. Recently, he worked on Final Fantasy XI as director. Ishii is the head of Square Enix's Production Team 8.
