[edit] Music
The band's sound is characterized by hardcore, punk, and metal influences, usually with shouted verses, interspersed with melodic flourishes.
[edit] Band history
Riz Farooqi founded the band not long after his return to his native Hong Kong, in 1999. His explicit objective was to make the musical sensibilities and DIY ethic of punk rock accessible to new listeners from outside the insular expat-oriented rock scene in which it had previously flourished. In particular, he made a concerted effort to reach disenfranchised Cantonese youth who sought an outlet to vent their dissatisfaction with prefabricated Cantopop.
The group is often given credit for introducing the practice of Circle pits in Hong Kong.
In 2007, King Ly Chee appeared as a support band for NOFX's Asian Invasion Tour.
