Kevin Sacre (born Kevin Bignell in March 1978)[1] is a British actor. He is most famous for his performance as Jake Dean in the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, a role he has played since 2002.[1] He will be exiting the show in May 2008.[2][3]
He studied at Aylesbury Grammar School for Boys, in Buckinghamshire. He graduated from Middlesex University with a BA in performing arts. He had formerly wanted to do a degree in biochemistry, but changed his mind at the last minute. He had a role on the ITV soap Night and Day as Dennis Doyle. Sacre made a non-speaking cameo appearance in the Ricky Gervais show Extras sitting behind Gervais' character at the BAFTA award ceremony.
Kevin has been known to play pranks on the set. In his backstage tour on the official Hollyoaks website, he is seen spraying shaving cream all over Ricky Whittle's car.[4]
He made a guest appearance on The Weakest Link alongside co-star Ali Bastian.
[edit] Personal life
He previously dated former co-star Ali Bastian.[5]
Sacre stated that he has gotten into a number of situations with his "mate" Jonny which he describes as "unprintable".[6]
He has remained friends with his Night and Day co-star Stephanie Leonidas.[7]
In early June 2006, Sacre contracted hand, foot and mouth disease and had to take time off from filming Hollyoaks.[8] He has a scar on his lip from being hit by a hockey puck when he was 18 years old.[7]
In 2008, for his role as the tragic, mentally-ill incarcerated figure of Jake Dean, Sacred was forced[citation needed] by Lime Productions to grow a full-on face-beard.
