Kent County League
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Kent County League (currently for sponsorship reasons known as the British Energy Kent County League) is a football competition based in Kent, England. The league has five senior divisions - a Premier Division, Division One East and West and Division Two East and West, plus reserve divisions. It is a feeder to the Kent League (step 5 of the National League System). However, the KCL Premier Division is officially classified as a Step 7 league due to the quality of grounds in the league and the standard of play[citation needed]. In practice, since there is no Step 6 league that covers Kent, the KCL is at the 10th level of the pyramid. Upon the completion of the non-league re-organization, it is likely that a larger regional league will cover Step 6 in Kent, pushing the County League back to level 11 status in reality as well as in theory.[citation needed]
In the 2007-08 season, it has 15 clubs in the Premier Division. The bottom two clubs face relegation to the regional lower divisions.
