Dion Holmes (born October 24, 1973 in Vero Beach, Florida) was an American football defensive end in the National Football League for the Tennessee Oilers/Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants. He was drafted in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Oilers and traded to the Giants in 2001. He never really lived up to expectations, recording only 38.5 sacks in 7 NFL seasons. Holmes has done much for his hometown of Gifford, Florida. Every year he hosts a very large and successful community day at Gifford Park. He has donated thousands of dollars to the local area and continues to do so. Although no longer active in the NFL, he reaches out to scores of those less fortunate.
