Keith Closs

Keith Mitchell Closs (born April 3, 1976 in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American professional basketball player. The 7-foot 3-inch player from Central Connecticut State University played three seasons as a backup center for the National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Clippers from 1997 to 2000, averaging 3.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game during his career. After logging career highs in points, rebounds, assists and steals during the 1999-2000 NBA season, Closs's NBA career abruptly ended.
He later played for the Pennsylvania Valley Dawgs of the USBL in 2003, and in the CBA. As at January 14, 2007 Closs was the leading shot blocker in the CBA at 2.9 blocks per game.
In January 2007, Closs signed with the Buffalo Silverbacks of the ABA.
Closs was selected with the 11th pick in the 5th round of the 2007 NBA Development League (NBADL) draft by the Tulsa 66ers. [1]

- Closs was caught on film being assaulted by a large group of men after an altercation at a Los Angeles-area nightclub. [2]
- Closs led the nation in blocks his first two years in college. After his second year, he left Central Connecticut State for the NBA.
- Holds the Clippers record for most blocked shots per 48 minutes (4.7505).
