Kavan Smith (born May 6, 1970) is a Canadian actor best known for playing Major Lorne in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis and for his recurring role as Agent Garrity in The 4400.

In Stargate Atlantis, Smith has currently appeared in 23 episodes and counting as the recurring character Major Lorne. He has also appeared in two episodes of Stargate SG-1 as Major Lorne.
He also played Jack Templeton in the 1997 movie Intensity, based on a novel by Dean Koontz.
In 2000's Mission to Mars Smith played the character Nicholas Willis alongside such better known actors as Gary Sinise, Tim Robbins, and Don Cheadle.
He has been in both the Outer Limits and the Twilight Zone.
He also has a role in the new web based series Sanctuary as Cop Joe Kavanaugh.
In addition he portrayed Lieutenant Richard Bayer, callsign Buster, in 'The Captain's Hand', an episode in Season 2 of the re-imagined series of Battlestar Galactica.
He also had a minor role in the Smallville first season episode "Kinetic", where he played Wade Mahaney, a man who could phase through solid objects due to the effects of a kryptonite meteor-rock based ink tattoo. He and his friends went on a spree of robberies that accumulated in robbing Lex Luthor's manor and drawing the attention of Clark Kent and Luthor.
