The term Kaurava is a Sanskrit term, that means the descendants of Kuru, a legendary king who is the ancestor of many of the characters of the Mahabharata. It is often written as Kauravas in English; technically this plural form is incorrect since the Sanskrit form is plural already. The singular term, for a single descendant of Kuru, is Kaura.

This is incorrect; the vṛddhi derivative of Kuruis correctly Kaurava (just as the derivative of Viṣnu is Vaiṣnava); it is an a-stem and would produce a plural by lengthening (sg Kauravaḥ, pl Kauravāḥ). No a-stem forms a plural by adding -va. The plural of Kuruḥ is Kuravaḥ but that is a u-stem, a different noun category. There is no noun Kaura. RandomCritic 16:43, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Dharmveer Bharti's "Andhaa Yug" takes a view that Yuyutsu faught with pandavaas and survived war but living in guilt of having ditched his brothers. Is there some support for this in ancient text. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.209.176.129 (talk) 13:31, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
