Karina Pasian (born July 18,1991) is an Dominican-American[1]singer/pianist[2][1]. She is currently signed to Def Jam.[3]

Pasian first began taking piano lessons at the age of three from her babysitter. [1]Her classical piano training began when she was in kindergarten. [1]She began working with a vocal coach when she was eight.[1]She learned how to sing in seven diffrent languages (English, Spanish, Italian, Russian, French, Turkish, and Arabic) and is fluent in two (English and Spanish).
In 2003, Pasian met Quincy Jones, and he invited her and her family to his home in Bel Air, California. [1]Soon after this, Pasian performed and won on Star Search. [1]She also performed at Quincy Jones' We Are The Future concert in Rome.[1] On June 22, 2007, Pasian performed at the White House for President George W. Bush in celebration of Black Music Month making her the first person of the Dominican decent to perform there.[4] [1]
Pasian became the subject of a bidding war when she was thirteen between three major record labels, Def Jam, Interscope, and Bad Boy Records[2]. She ultimately chose Def Jam in 2006 because they "made the best offer."[2]
