Karen Newman

Karen Newman is a professional singer based in Detroit, Michigan. She is best known for being "the voice" of the National Hockey League's Detroit Red Wings, regularly performing the National Anthem. She is divorced with two children, Kylie and Dylan Cohen.
She has toured with Bob Seger and Kid Rock.[citation needed]
Karen has three (3) previously released CDs and is currently working on her fourth (Jan 2008). Her Holiday CD, "What Christmas Means to Me", has been a tremendous seller for this Detroit based singer. The single "Christmas Eve on Woodward Avenue" has become a traditional favorite for many Detroit radio stations, and has been included for many years as part of the Detroit Thanksgiving Parade.
Karen produces a complete family-based holiday show around her songs and presents them every year for the dedicated fan base that has sprung from her 18 years singing the National Anthem for the Detroit Red Wings. In 2008, this show will take to the road to allow her to share her holiday joy beyond just the Metro Detroit area.
A new CD is planned to be released in May 2008.
During the summer of 2008, Karen is expected to tour Fairs and Festivals in Michigan.
