Does anybody know any of the history of Kahlúa? The website doesn't offer much. I even checked older versions via the Wayback Machine. I found some tiny evidence that it is manufactured in or around Puebla, Mexico. But it's hard to verify, even now while I am currently in Mexico. Coffee may contain an ingredient that protects the liver against alcoholic cirrhosis, a new study shows. [1]. Not only does the caffeine keep you from getting too sleepy, the coffee protects your liver. Unfortunately the high levels of sugar may cause diabetes ;) --Thoric 03:03, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Most Markets?
The article claims it was lowered to 20% ABV in "most markets". Is this true? A quick check shows it has 20% ABV in most US states and Canada, but 26 or 26.5 in Australia and the few European countries I checked. The only sentence currently there is "Allied Domecq had produced Kahlúa since 1936[1] until the company was partially acquired in 2005 by Pernod Ricard, the second largest spirits distributor in the world, & third largest in the U.S.[2]".
How can something be third largest in a particular country, yet second largest in the world?IgorSF (talk) 08:05, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
I wondered about that myself. I read the article cited as the source for that perplexing claim. I found twice the claim that they were #2 in the world, but found no reference to being third in the U.S. In case I had overlooked the exact thing I was reading for, I used a search function to find the words "three," "third", "large" and even the numeral "3" and still found nothing.
