Another Tip of the moment...

Try to see it my way!

Frustrated by the comments, edits, and reverts of another user? Remember, behind that sig line is another human being, just like you! And just like you, that person wants to see his or her ideas come to life on Wikipedia.

If you feel yourself getting angry, hurt, or frustrated, explain yourself in a reasonable way and (politely) ask that others involved in the conversation do the same. But don't expect everyone to agree with you. Differences of background and opinion are part of what make Wikipedia so great!

[edit] Earth's atmosphere

I didn't just erase, I left it visible on the edit page. And I'll let others rule on how much referencing is enough. What I know for sure is that Wikipedians often remove allegedly unjustified templates, or debate them on the talk page, but not on the main article page. That just isn't done - see Wikipedia:Avoid self-references. Art LaPella 18:31, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Acumulated Weigth of air

... ist just a pile of data, not an artcile. Please don't post meaningless numbers, that may be considered vandalism -- Chris 73 | Talk 19:05, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I strongly think that this is not the correct place for the data. This is not what you would expect in a wikipedia article. Is this published somehwere? Can you just describe the formulas for its calculation in the Atmosphere article? I just see no way how the pile of data would survivie any deletion debate. -- Chris 73 | Talk 19:26, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
I know that they are in the page, I have seen em there when i deleted it. Take one step back: If you open the encyclopedia Britannica, would you expect to see a formula followed by 10 pages with data columns? Same here. If you need the formulas, here is the code:

[1] \frac{(H_{i+1} - H_{i-1} )}{2} \rho [2] Sum Weight from end [3] Sum Weight from begining [4] \frac{AcumWeight_i}{TotalWeight}

I hope this helps. I know, one of the problems if Wikipedia is sometimes to have people agree on one thing. It does not always work, it is sometimes frustrating, but I think in this example we are still doing fine. Does this help you? -- Chris 73 | Talk 19:40, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
looks much better now than the data dump. thanks -- Chris 73 | Talk 07:51, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NRLMSISE-00

Hi, the example you add to this page was from the MSIS-E-90 Atmosphere Model, not the NRLMSISE-00 atmosphere Model. Just wondering if you noticed. --Duk 17:10, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

According to this NRL page, the NRLMSISE-00 builds on MSIS models.
Yes, you are right, both models are equivalent below 100 km. The NRLMSISE-00 model goes up to 1000km and is heavily affected by solar wind...
I don't know of any on-line version of the NRLMSISE-00, but I'd be happy to email you a compiled version. Let me know. --Duk 04:04, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
