Julian, (pronounced /dʒuːliˈæn/) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the State College, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 152 at the 2000 census. Most locals pronounce the name Joo-lee-ānn. The postal address Julian, is used even on the other side of Unionville, for example Flemming.

Julian is located at 40°51′48″N 77°56′26″W / 40.86333, -77.94056 (40.863230, -77.940677)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.1 square miles (0.4 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 152 people, 57 households, 40 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,057.4 people per square mile (419.2/km²). There were 61 housing units at an average density of 424.4/sq mi (168.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 99.34% White, and 0.66% from two or more races.

There were 57 households out of which 29.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.2% were married couples living together, 5.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.1% were non-families. 22.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.15.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 30.9% from 25 to 44, 27.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 97.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.0 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $40,179, and the median income for a family was $41,071. Males had a median income of $33,750 versus $18,750 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $12,307. About 13.0% of families and 16.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 31.0% of those under the age of eighteen and none of those sixty five or over.
