[edit] Buddhism

Your comment on the Buddhism talk page demonstrates how little you know about Buddhism. LuisGomez111 (talk) 06:04, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

What you think Buddhism is, is not really Buddhism. But, I am curious as to why you would say that, can you elaborate? JS747 (talk) 13:30, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
First of all, I am a Buddhist convert. Secondly, I have been studying Theravada Buddhism for the better part of three years under the tutelage of two Buddhist monks. One of them has a doctorate in Buddhist studies. So unless you're a Buddhist scholar, I suspect I know quite a bit more than you about Buddhism.
Regarding your comment: The Buddha is laughing at nobody. He became an arhant during his 30s and therefore achieved nirvana upon his death. Furthermore, enlightened beings have little use for or interest in Wikipedia or anything else of this world. This of course is the perspective of a devout Buddhist.
What makes you think that an understanding of Buddhism can come from a book or from "studying"?. All one needs to do to "understand" Buddhism is to "sit under a tree". Just because one is a "Buddhist scholar", does not necessarily mean they understand Buddhism. Especially if they carry "I" as you do.
It is not possible to carry "I" and understand Buddhism at the same time!
Since "understanding Buddhism" means the dissolution of "I".JS747 (talk) 19:48, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
