José Pampuro

José Juan Bautista Pampuro is an Argentine Justicialist Party politician, currently a senator for Buenos Aires Province, Senate leader and formerly Defence Minister.
Pampuro was Chief of Staff to President Eduardo Duhalde. He was retained by Néstor Kirchner and made Defence Minister.
Pampuro was elected to the Senate on the Front for Victory slate alongside Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in 2005 and was replaced as defence minister by Nilda Garré. In February 2006, he was elected as provisional President of the Senate, putting him third in line to the presidency.
