Jonathan, you commented that my 2005 contribution to the general anode article would be better placed under sacrificial anodes. I have to agree, but i no longer find my contribution present in any case. Apparently its been deleted. A pity, because i am an expert in corrosion and was a consultant to the sacrificial anode industry for many years and have written a monograph on the technical aspects including the related corrosion chemistry. But i am not going to take the time to re-enter what i wrote previously. Curiously i found a link to a commercial site selling replacement anodes for water heaters! Maybe those guys were the ones that deleted my post. I guess this is the downside of anyone being able to edit. There is a surprising amount of mumbo jumbo and incorrect information on the functioning of sacrificial anodes on the internet and in the industry in general. Today i looked at the entry under "sacrificial anode" and found ridiculously incorrect information. I corrected the article so that it is at least not quite as bad, but i'm not going to re-write it. Thanks for commenting, and i do agree that my contribution, if it still existed, would be better placed under the "sacrificial" anode entry.
