John S. Moore is an American saxophonist and saxophone teacher who specializes in European and American classical music.

Moore holds an M.M. degree from Florida State University where he studied with Patrick Meighan. He attended and performed at several workshops given by saxophonist Sigurd Raschèr.

Moore currently serves as instructor of saxophone at University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky and at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana.

He has served as saxophone instructor at the State University of New York at Stony Brook; at Campbellsville University[1] in Campbellsville, Kentucky; and at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.

For several years he served as co-coordinator of chamber music at the Saxophone Institute, an annual week-long summer workshop held at the University of Louisville and later at Transylvania University.

In 2002 he started the Cardinal Saxophone Workshop, a week-long program for saxophonists ages 12 to adult. It is held each July on the University of Louisville campus.

In the 1980s and 1990s he played in 'THE TRIO,' an ensemble of alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones. Other members of THE TRIO over the years included Lee Patrick, Patrick Meighan, Pete Hodson, and Rick Morgan.

Mr. Moore has also performed professionally as a member of Trio Bel Canto (alto saxophone, tenor saxophone and piano), the Aeolian Saxophone Quartet, the Saxophone Sinfonia, the New York Chamber Saxophones, and the New Sousa Band.

As a member of Trio Bel Canto, he was a bronze medalist at the first Osaka International Chamber Music Competition and Festa held in Osaka, Japan. As a soloist was a semifinalist in the Concert Artists Guild International New York Competition.
