John Moe

John Moe is an American writer and reporter. He is a senior reporter on the American Public Media radio program Weekend America where he is the primary back-up for hosts Bill Radke and Desiree Cooper. He also appears on the weekly segment "A Little Bit of Weather Everywhere", presenting unique events happening around the country, and the weather for the day at these events. Prior to working full-time for Weekend America, Moe worked for NPR affiliate station KUOW in Seattle, where he hosted and produced The Works, a weekly program dedicated to business and technology. He was a contributor to Weekend America for much of his tenure at KUOW.
He is the author of Conservatize Me: How I Tried to Become a Righty with the Help of Richard Nixon, Sean Hannity, Toby Keith, and Beef Jerky, published in October 2006. The book chronicles Moe's attempt to become a conservative. He has also appeared in the McSweeney's anthologies Created in Darkness by Troubled Americans and Mountain Man Dance Moves.
He is also the author of Pop Song Correspondences, a feature on the McSweeney's web site.
He graduated from Whitman College and lives in Seattle.
In the 90s, he fronted the band Free Range Chickens who, after a 5 year hiatus, re-emerged as Chicken Starship.
