John H. Francis Polytechnic High School is a secondary school located in Los Angeles, California, United States.
Polytechnic, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. Despite its name, Polytechnic is a comprehensive high school.
The school is located in the Sun Valley section of Los Angeles, in the San Fernando Valley. It offers a Magnet program for those willing to attend college in the near future.

Francis Polytechnic High School opened in the early 1900's at its original campus in downtown Los Angeles on Washington and Grand Streets. In 1956 it was moved to its present location. [1]. The school mascot is a parrot named Joe Poly. The school is also popular for its long going rivalry against North Hollywood High School. The former site has been the campus of Los Angeles Trade-Technical College since the high school's relocation.
In 2006, the establishment of Arleta High School [2] and Panorama High School [3] relieved Polytechnic of its overcrowding.
