John Francis Bregar (born on March 1, 1985 in North York, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Dylan Michalchuk on Degrassi: The Next Generation. He began his acting career at the age of 11, in his elementary school production of "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat." His first acting auditions were for Queer as Folk.
His professional acting debut was starring in the music video 'Father' by Knights of the Realm. He played Jason Valentine in the Canadian Film Center short film, Todd And The Book Of Pure Evil alongside Steve Arbuckle as Todd. He and Adamo Ruggiero were nominated for a GLAAD Media Award at the 15th Annual GLAAD Media Awards and featured in the popular magazine The Advocate for their roles in Degrassi: The Next Generation, as teenage boyfriends. While his first two auditions were for Queer as Folk and he portrays a gay teenager on Degrassi: The Next Generation, John identifies as straight in real life.
