Joanne Rushton

Sergeant Major Joanne Rushton (born Joe Rushton in 1960) is the first transsexual to serve in the British Army. As a man, he served in Kosovo, Bosnia and Northern Ireland with the Royal Engineers and was also part of the army boxing team.[1]
