Just want to congratulate you for your work on John Wayne - he too is my favourite actor and I have started many of his films on wikipedia. Hi. I noticed you admitted to cutting and pasting the biography together. Why is this? If you expect articles to be rated above stub, you need to spend a lot more time on them, converting printed and internet information into a prosaic form which does not display word for word exactly what was said in the source. That can be seen as a flagrance of copyright in law, which is why Wikipedia has that guideline policy.

There is currently so much wrong with the article that I am a bit daunted about taking it on. Much of the referencing needs formatting, and I'm afraid your unsourced 'comments' in the Footnotes section (some of which verge on POV, and others which should appear in the main text), need to either be converted to bona fide supported references, integrated into the article itself, or removed as personal commenting.

For now, I am tagging the article with my concerns, I may be able to summon up the courage to tackle this later, but I urge you to devote a little subjective time to this piece before anyone rates it above stub (if it can be sorted out, it's a definite 'B', by the way). I was trying to be clever one day, and I haven't got round to re-thinking it. Right. I had to go through it with a fine tooth comb, as I found some minor formatting irritations, and some year-only linking to remove, which is frowned on by Manual of Style Dates and Numbers. You were okay linking to film years, so that's left in.
There were a lot of whitespaces eating up serverspace, they're gone, and common repeated sources have been "split", so you'll get loads of a b c ds &etc., on one reference line.
As far as I'm concerned now, it's a cracking good article which addresses all the minimum requirements laid down, and therefore I've rated it B-Class. As merely a "fixer", I felt impartial enough to do the assessment. Best wishes. Ref (chew)(do) 21:21, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
