[edit] Jetix Block on Fox Kids
The Jetix brand was gently introduced to the UK in the form of a programming block on the 24/7 channel of Fox Kids. Beginning in April 2004, it aired every day between the hours of 3pm and 7pm. In September of 2004, the block was also included in the morning line-up, airing between 7am and 9am.
The Jetix block featured the following programs; Shaman King, Sonic X, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Jackie Chan Adventures, Totally Spies, Black Hole High, Goosebumps, MegaMan: NT Warrior, Martin Mystery, Robot Wars, and Power Rangers Ninja Storm plus 2-minute shorts of Shin Chan episodes.
When Fox Kids formally rebranded as Jetix on January 1, 2005, the Jetix block was dropped, and the shows that it contained were integrated into the normal programming schedule.

[edit] Jetix VOD
Since the launch of Pucca on Jetix (mid way though July 2006), Jetix has offered an online "Video On Demand" service [3], allowing viewers to watch "Exclusive to web" Pucca Shorts (Titled "Pucca: Funny ♥ Love"). Adverts for the TV episodes of Pucca run before and after each short. Since the UK TV airing of Power Rangers: Mystic Force, all Pucca: Funny ♥ Love episodes have been replaced with clips of Power Rangers: Mystic Force (Interestingly enough, on AOL Browsers, debug information is also shown).
Similarly to Toonami (US)'s Toonami Jetstream Service, Jetix VOD is exclusive to the United Kingdom and Internet Explorer (5.0 and later) users. Attempting to launch the service ether from outside the UK (Or rather, not using a UK IP address) or using a non Internet Explorer web browser will lead to an error message being displayed and the service not running.
[edit] Editing practice
Jetix UK has edited some shows for content that is considered too violent for Jetix's target audience. These edits are usually of a time-cut nature, omitting the offending scene. Examples of edits include
Digimon (Season 1): A shot of Leomon grabbing Tai by the neck (whilst he was still in his underwear) was cut
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The silhouette shot of Splinter's owner being cut down by The Shreeder was also cut
Shaman King: Any shot of Anna slapping anyone (happens twice, once to June Tao and once to Zeek/Hao Asakura) has been omitted.
Power Rangers: Strobe lighting, scenes which kids may imitate and even entire episodes are cut.[1]
Megaman NT Warrior (Rockman.exe): A shot of Mayrl stamping on Lan's toe before elbowing him in the stomach in responce to his flirting in episode 2 was cut and edited to make the toe stamping to be the only thing she does.
Whilst these edits have been of quick, unnoticeable shots and thus would not have been picked up on had they not aired on other channels with out the edits or made note of elsewhere, the most noticeable case for Jetix UK's editing practices has been their editing of Naruto for which Jetix caught a lot of bad press for editing episodes beyond Viz's relatively lenient edit and not informing anyone of such being a case until the show aired.
[edit] Magazine
Future Publishing publishes the official Jetix Magazine. Published every four weeks the magazine features puzzles and features based on the channel's characters plus a six page Power Rangers comic. The magazine also comes with a free DVD featuring shows from the channel.
New issues contain an Sonic X comic which are basically copies of the current Sonic X comic series by Archie.
[edit] Special Holiday Events
Both Fox Kids and Jetix have had a history of special holiday programing events, typically comprising of marathons or back-to-back episodes of various shows, such as Jackie Chan, Power Rangers or other similar popular franchises. On some occasions, certain special events have been known to feature an additional on-screen graphic during the day in question, as well as other specially created promotional channel idents. These special events are usually placed around public holidays or school breaks.
Some examples of past Jetix holiday events are;
- December 2002-January 5, 2003 - Cheeky Xmas
- February 15, 2003-March 2, 2003 - Chantastic Challenge
- May 2003 - Marvellous Half-term

[edit] Anime Block
Everynight from 8PM to 10PM there is a block of anime shown. It consists of;
8PM-8:30PM - Shaman King
8:30PM-9PM - Naruto
[edit] Time Extensions
When Fox Kids initially launched in October 19, 1996, it aired between the hours of 6am and 7pm and timeshared with National Geographic Channel. Eventually, broadcasting hours were extended to 10pm, and, on the 3rd November 2003, the channel began to broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The 24 hour broadcasting continued until March 2006. Shortly after Fox Kids rebranded as Jetix, the station reduced its broadcasting hours, and began broadcasting Tele-shopping Presentations from 11pm - 2am.
