Jerry Dennon (born Gerald B. Dennon) September 18, 1938 in Astoria, Oregon. Raised in Cannon Beach, Oregon and Seaside, Oregon. The name Jerry bestowed by his parents. He founded Jerden Records in 1960 with Bonnie Guitar. Jerry first worked in broadcasting beginning in 1956 at KOIN Radio & KOIN-TV in Portland, Oregon. He then became part owner and general manager of KUIK in Hillsboro, Oregon in 1958. From there Jerry became Oregon promotion manager for TV Guide magazine. He took on a second job at B.G. Record Service in Portland to promote records. That led Jerry to Seattle in 1959 were he became national promotion manager for Dolton Records as well as Northwest promotion manager for C & C Record Distribution.
Jerry could see records were his future, founding the Jerden label in 1960 with Bonnie Guitar. Jerry owned the majority of Jerden. In 1963 he launched Burdette Music Co. for music publishing. Then in 1964 founding his second record label Panorama and in 1966 yet another label Piccadilly. 1967 saw the launching of the Burdette record label. Jerry built radio station KSWB in Seaside, Oregon in 1968 with partners the folk group The Brothers Four. The partners sold the station in 1972. In 1992 Jerry founded SoundWorks, Inc. where the Jerden label continues today.
