I saw your comment on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abdul Salaam (Guantanamo detainee 826). I'd like to reqquest your help. You wrote:

It was true -- when Lambda wrote it -- that he wasn't mentioned by name in sources other than the OARDEC memos.

But, since then, I found two explicit references to him other than the OARDEC documents. He was explcitly mentioned in Andy Worthington's excellent book, and in an article published in January 22 by the Associated Press by Alexandra Olson.

And I modified the article accordingly.

So, please help me out. What should I have done so that, when you read the discussion, you would have recognized that Lambda's criticism was no longer valid?

For what it is worth I believe that since the OARDEC memos were developed by a different team, who didn't answer to the camp's commandant, these documents are fully independent. On paper at least, the OARDEC officers are no longer in the military chain of command, and so I believe these documents satisfy all the requirements to be considered the secondary sources policy requires.
