Jauqo III-X is an American electric bass guitar player. He is recognized for his use of Extended-range basses, (or "ERBs"), which are electric bass guitars with more range (usually meaning more strings, but sometimes additional frets are added for more range) than the "standard" 4-string bass guitar.
Jauqo III-X is accomplished in many musical styles. His playing features elements of jazz, fusion, progressive rock, blues, and funk. He utilizes a myriad of techniques while performing, including tapping, double picking, and a hybrid technique which combines picking, thumping, and plucking.
Jauqo III-X is noted for conceptualizing and creating the Sub-contra bass (a bass guitar tuned Low C#, F#, B, and E) and the Low C# bass guitar string (a string with an extremely low open frequency of 17Hz). He also conceived the world's first 15 string bass guitar, a tripled 5 string bass tuned Eee, Aaa, Ddd, Ggg, and Ccc, which was created in 1997.
