Jat Airways Flight Academy

The Jat Airways Flight Academy (Serbian: Jat Airways Pilotska Akademija) is located in the city of Vršac in Serbia at Vršac Airport. It is one of the biggest and oldest flight academies in the Balkans. The flight academy has been a subsidiary of Jat Airways since its creation in 1973.

The Jat Airways Flight Academy Vršac has its own programme based on over 50 years of experience in training pilots for commercial air transport. In its long tradition of pilot training, the Jat Airways Flight Academy has educated 70%+ of pilots flying today for the national air carrier – Jat Airways. Jat Airways is among the safest airline companies in Europe. Besides training pilots for domestic needs, Jat Flight Academy has trained pilots for almost 30 companies around the world. More than 1600 pilots are flying for different airlines on all continents.

• An IALCO conference of air companies' training centres is to be held at the Jat Airways Pilot Academy in June, 2007, when representatives of thirty pilots training centres will debate the new ICAO pilot training standards, the implementation of which is scheduled to take place in 2008.

• Negotiations are underway with a pilot school in Great Britain to assist Jat Academy candidates in obtaining valid licenses under European standards. This would place the Academy on equal footing with student pilots at other pilot schools within the European Union.

• JAT is also now the training grounds for many Indian pilot aspirants. As of November 2007 there are more than 40 Indian students doing their training in this institute.The JAR license given to the students are one attraction.Then there is the fact that the excellent training provided will help then out in the long run as a commercial pilot.
